The Sun Fire V440 server supports the reliable, secure, and binary-compatible Solaris Operating System and the standards-based Sun Open Net Environment (Sun ONE) portfolio.

High Performance
A high-performance system that meets the needs of compute-intensive applications, the Sun Fire V440 server features up to four 1.062-GHz or 1.28-GHz UltraSPARC IIIi processors, each with 1 MB of internal Level 2 cache and up to 4 GB of ECC memory.

UltraSPARC IIIi technology offers enhanced performance and enables increased system efficiency compared to previous generations of processors. UltraSPARC technology also provides 100 percent binary backward compatibility with applications developed for the SPARC architecture while maximizing multiprocessor scaling performance, increasing memory access, and lowering latency.
